About Us

Our Schools

Banks School

The first of our schools to be opened, Banks School was established in 2021 and is based in Norwich, Norfolk.

Felix School

Based in Hull, Felix School is our second School that opened in 2024.

Our Ethos

My voice. My choice. My lifelong learning.

Our ethos is based on evidence-based practices and approaches that have been proven to have a positive impact on the lives of children and young people with autism, mental health conditions and learning disabilities.

Our ethos supports their progression to more independent lives through a person-centred enriched approach. We ensure that every pupil can communicate by empowering them through an outstanding learning journey.

Admissions

The school determines whether a pupil is suitable for Cascade Schools. Pupils at our schools:

  • Are Looked After Children, in Public Care and are in the care of Cascade or a Child in Need.
  • Have a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Disorder and/or a diagnosis of a Learning Disability or SEMH.
  • Has or is in the process of acquiring an EHCP, as set out in the Children’s and Families Act 2014.

School Uniform

Each pupil will be provided with a Cascade Schools logo T-shirt. We ask that children attend school in comfortable clothing such as joggers and leggings.

Jeans are not permitted as we spend lots of time learning outside and wet jeans become very heavy and difficult to get off! Clothes may become dirty during messy play activities or learning outside the classroom activities, so we ask that children don’t wear expensive clothing.

Coats and jackets are needed daily for outdoor play. We do ask that pupils have spare clothes and when attending trips or visits that they have appropriate clothing and footwear for the visit type.

The Schools Advisory Board

The role of the Schools Advisory Board – SAB is in line with the role of a governing body in a local authority school, and its purpose is to assist the Proprietary Board of Directors, the Headteacher and the school staff to improve educational standards so that our children and young people have the chance to realise their full potential.

When the School Advisory Board meets, along with the Headteacher and Proprietary Board, they will set objectives around how the schools will develop and improve. They help set policies, formulate plans and agree targets to help the school achieve these objectives, as well as regularly reviewing their strategic framework in light of progress.
